I'm too the point where I need to dig into this Lua stuff. I need to create buttons that change the fade time for my color playback which I think can be done with macros and I also need a way to bulk edit some pixel effects dependinh on the spacing of fixtures in the rig from day to day (I add dummy fixtures to allow the "chasing" effects to look proper).
Based on preliminary digging it seems like the macros are stored outside of the MPC software using software written by @ricdays. It seems like there is no real support for clever macros within the software so does that mean I am limited to running macros only on a PC and I can't do it on an M1?
What if I have a PC join the session with a real console. Then I assume I could somehow run macros yes?
In my search I am met with a lot of conflicts in information that I believe are caused by the rapid development of the macro support which is something that a forum search is terrible at using as an exploration tool but a sticky post kind of addresses...
@Sylvain_Guiblain has some things in a thread around here and I know it involves integration with outside tools but I think it's time to create a dedicated section of the forum with proper stickies and not just lump it in with midi.
I, for one, need a good jumping off point or I will never be able to sink my teeth into this. And I think the best answer is not to link me to the best article but actually create a place where everyone else can use it as a jumping off point.

I really want to be able to add playback buttons to 2D plan. I have some DJs that I maintain show files for who would really benefit from this as I could include quick notes in here.
Also links to other 2D plans would be perfect so I could make simplistic UI.
I would appreciate this when busking as well as I could organize my playbacks in a better way on screen... Making some big and some small. And whatever I want really.
I notice there is a way to import pictures into MPC maybe allowing that, plus any factory gobo images to be used as background for buttons would be a great addition at some point too. In addition to completely custom color assignment like is possible for color playback buttons presently.

Is there a way I can "off" a value in a cuelist.
Most commonly this is an issue with effects. I want to have one cue in a list (let's say, the chorus cue for a cuelist for a specific song) that takes control of lights and puts an effect on them but then I want to release that back to whatever I have on my movement faders on the verse cue.
Presently I have no issues making this happen by using a "not tracked" cue list... But that is hard to work with because I rely heavily on a silent first cue that marks everything for that song (such as my media files and anything I want to stay in the same place) such a pain to keep updating all the cues.

Hello all,
what are your solutions to have a printed label, or whatever (I don't even know how to explain in french ; imagine in english !...), to put on the buttons of your m-touch or m-play, or launchpad or APC ?...
Of course I don't want to type on the buttons, and tapes doesn't hold with heat or humidity.
Thank you !

Hi,
I can't make the shift button to work using MPCTool. What I'd like to achieve is to
- have a button set to "CLEAR " (no problem)
- have a "shift" button (done)
- make the "CLEAR" button act as "BEAT" when I press the "SHIFT" button using the dow button shift assignement
Clear works, but not the Beat function.
I'm using the 3.14 version, with APC40.
Any idea ?
Thanx !

I'm having issues with my midi feedback for my APC Mini.
Each row of buttons is assigned to the "up up button" on a different bank.
Shift+button is saved as "up button" on the same bank fader
I have the input and the output saved to "APC MINI" in MPC tools
When I activate a cue the led turns on, but, when it is released the light never turns off.
Any ideas?

Hey all, I have a model created inside of Martin Show Designer 6 lite and I know that this program can talk to Jands vista so I can use the visualizer to create a show I'm running Christmas Weekend. I have both programs talking to each other once I turn WIFI off and use a local connection, but even though they are recognizing one another, there is still nothing really happening in the visualizer. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hello,
I have previously used MA dot2 for all of my events, but now I'm getting to the stage where I need more than one universe, and since MA dot2 only offers one free universe over artnet (compared to m-pc's 4 universes) I am switching back to m-pc for larger events. I am looking at getting an Enttec Ethergate MK3 which has 2 5pin DMX outputs over artnet. Will this work with m-pc and has anyone ever used one with m-pc before.
Would love to know your thoughts on this idea.
Thanks
Harry

Did the original Martin M1 console ship with a USB One-Key dongle? When looking up the licenses we have on the M1 console, we see that we have a licence for a 180 day trial of MSD6 Lite - is it possible to install this trial on a nearby computer (or at home, even), and not on the console? Did the Martin M1 ever ship with a One-Key usb dongle? We have the M1 recovery USB but we weren't able to find the One-Key - are these dongles built into the system? If so, is there any way to activate the license on a different computer?
Also, does the M2GO HD come with one of these dongles? We just ordered one and it should be coming in pretty soon.
Thanks!

Happy Holidays ALL,
I've been a Marti Professional User/Installer since the late 90's and just wanted to thank Martin Tech Support.
Since the beginning of Martin I could always rely on the 24/7 Tech Support to come through in a pinch. As you know things always go awry after hours.
Every time I've called the Martin 24/7 Tech Support I've always received a call back and the Lighting Professional on the line has the same tenacity and the love of professional lighting as someone along side of me at the event.
Thanks again!
D
(Btw you'll always be known to me as Martin PROFESSIONAL)

Hello everybody. Just a regular noob here. I've purchased a (to be honest, don't even know what it is anymore) M-PC 2U (The label says that, the casing of the unit says MDMX and the computer says USB DMX Duo). Bottomline, I installed M-PC in order to use it (don't need much, just one universe) but for some reason M-PC doesn't see the box. Windows recognises it, USB View tool sees it, but M-PC will not. I've tried the install on a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 computer, and on both machines I've downloaded the cleanup tool, made sure to have all my windows updates and re-installed everything back, and yet, the problem still stands. Any idea before I grab the sledge hammer?

I'm running a cuelist with 18 steps which runs 1-17, then a link back to cue 15, with a count of 3.
The first time the cuelist runs, it follows the link and repeats steps 15-17 3 times.
The cuelist options have the End Of Cuelist set to Goto First Cue, however any subsequent loops of the queuelist seem to ignore the loop as if it had already been triggered. Is this intended behavior or a bug?, i'd like the link to repeat every time the cuelist starts over on cue 1.

So I am trying to create playback button with LUA script.
AutoPresets and other scripts work perfectly, but when it comes to creating playback buttons with CreatePresetPlayback script, it doesn't want to create cuelists. I can see mpc working, in 2D I see my light changing color as mpc is creating cuelists, but when it finished playback page is empty, like nothing happen .
Spent whole morning trying to figure it out, anyone have idea why this happens?

Hello, thank you for answering my last question. I am going to be designing a show in a space that I’m not all too familiar with. It basically just has a bunch of pars plugged into dimmer packs. Will I be able to control each light or can I only turn on all the dimmer packs? I’ve tried searching for the answer to this but have found any clear results. How would I go about patching each channel from each dimmer pack?

I ran the Martin Software Cleanup 03.SEP.2016, rebooted, reinstalled, still not showing what the lights are doing in 2d.
