Networking two venues - best practice

What is the best practice (or common practice) for networking two venues - one larger primary venue, and one smaller secondary venue? Or... maybe is it best practice not to network them, just to keep them separate?

After several years of being a portable church in a local middle school, we are finally going to be building our own building. We will, of course, have lighting in the main room (a flexible space room, seating around 400-450). But there will also be a small "theater" room in the children's area where we will have some lighting as well. Probably an M2GO or M1 in the main room, and M-PC with the M-Touch we already own in the children's room.

Would there be benefits to networking the consoles (MaxNet) and/or Artnet between the two rooms? If so, what is the best practice (or common practice) way to do it?

Would love to hear from anyone that actually does this in their facility, how you do it, and what benefits it gives you.

Or should we just keep one or both (MaxNet and/or Artnet) of their lighting networks completely separate from each other.

Thanks.
